CastingNewYork was founded by Dave Stroebel in 1998, first appearing on the first theGlobe.com, the internet's very first 'community'-like YahooGroups. From there, CastingNewYork moved to EGroups after theGlobe.com succumbed to the .com meltdown. In 2001 Egroups was bought out by Yahoo, thus giving birth to what's now YahooGroups where CastingNewYork really took root, gained momentum and caught the eyes of thousands and thousands of New York City actors. Today, CastingNewYork is well established at its own domain attracting more and more top casting directors, advertisers and established names in the filmmaking and showbiz community.

CastingNewYork is dedicated to connecting actors with talent agents and casting directors through news and casting notices. All our web information is viewable for free, and always has been. We offer free services to the performing arts community, and we like it that way.
